Singapore Association For The Deaf

The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) is the leading organisation in advocating equal opportunity, in all aspects, for the Deaf and supporting the Deaf to reach their full potential. Our mission is to assist the Deaf to achieve a better quality of life and to enable them to integrate and contribute to society.

For a child, every day should be an adventure – an opportunity to meet new friends and learn about the world. But for children who are Deaf and hard-of-hearing, they may be missing out, let down by schools that don’t support them and grow up isolated and lonely.

At SADeaf, we want to ensure the full enjoyment by Deaf and hard-of-hearing children of all on an equal basis with other children. We provide disability and age-appropriate assistance to Deaf and hard-of-hearing children through the support of teachers, including Deaf teachers, who are qualified in sign language as well as train professionals and staffs to work with Deaf children.

Today, SADeaf supports children with hearing loss in designated schools such as Mayflower Primary School, Lighthouse school, Beatty Secondary School and Mountbatten Vocational School. As more children with hearing loss are integrated into mainstream schools, SADeaf’s itinerant support service programme provides educational and socio-emotional support for these children in various mainstream schools in Singapore.

With your support, we can provide an opportunity for a bright future for every Deaf and hard-of-hearing child who needs us.
